I watched most of the case on court TV, I can't believe the jury is hung, Sherica(sp) Adams, while on her death bed, told detectives that Carruth was behind all this. She told the 911 operater that Carruth shot her. The defense claimed that she was delerious and was not thinking clearly because of massive internal bleeding, I think this is bullshit, but obviously the jury thought differently. lets not forget what Carruth did after the murder, he dissapeared for a while and was found hiding in a trunk of a car. Not guilty of murder in the first, guilty of conspiracy to commit murder were 2 of the 4 verdicts. Defense is appealing. Its friggin sick to hear that a man who makes (made) millions a year to play football was so pissed about child support that he'd plot to kill his g/f and the baby. While I'm often disgree with some of the folks is this thread of several topics, I have to say Rae Caruth serving anything less than a death sentence is BS. He deserves to die IMHO. ------------------ | ||

I don't understand...how can this man (and I use that word loosely) be convicted of conspiracy to commit murder yet somehow avoid first degree murder? I mean, after all, the woman died from injuries sustained in a foul play. He was convicted on charges of conspiring to commit this crime...which makes it premeditated...which makes him a nice candidate for first degree murder charge! What gives??? What is going on here??? Who is to blame? Well, obviously, Rake-a-Roof is guilty of murder. He killed a helpless woman carrying a child. No doubt there (except in the minds of these moron jurors). What jury in it's right mind could give him a sentence that will in all likelihood put him away for only 7 or 8 years served with parole??? What a shame! Is this what this country is coming to? | ||

Carruth didn't pull the trigger, he organized the murder, but had another guy kill her, thats why he is innocent of 1st degree murder. Obviously I think he should of been convicted of 1st degree murder also because she would still be alive if not for his "commands". the maximum penalty is only 20 years, so I doubt he does more than 7 years in prison, thats a shame. ------------------ |
