Poorly, poorly named article. Very good information and data. I'm not too sure how credible the Tavistock Clinic in London is though. I don't believe one sex to be weaker than the other at all. If you believe in a traditional family structure, both male and female parents share equal burdens and responsibilities in child rearing and in their relationship with each other. What this does in my mind do, is back up my post titled "Feminizing Men". Society has to have boys who grow into men without female virtues. My reasoning behind it is this: If men became more like women and were closer in touch with their emotions, how many of those men would become war-going military personnel (I'm talking Marines and Army - trained to kill), how many would become police officers, how many would be fearless rescuers, how many would be medical professionals, etc. All of those and many more jobs require a lack of sensitivity and expressed emotions, even for females who do the same work. We have to have individuals who do not express or recognize their emotions to a degree. ------------------ | ||

Woman only marry less often after becoming widows because their Husbands had the foresight to get life insurance to make sure that their wife's and kids never had to worry about money again. Hence, they don't need to hook up with someone else to provide for them. Men however, on the whole when their wife dies are left with a shit load of bills to cover including burrying them. Plus the rugrats and no freaking money! No wonder we go out and remarry, not because we want to but becuase we can't afford to be single and don't want to raise our kids in a daycare. If we want a payoff when women die, we gotta buy the insurance on them and then we always get questioned about the womans death. | ||

Really? Well, on the premise of fairness and equality, I think you should read Germaine Greer's "The Whole Woman"..she points out very well and very forcefully how "EQUAL" men are in a TRADITIONAL family environment. When a man who has a family burden has extra money to spend, what does he spend it on? Toys..cars..boats...TOYS. When a woman who has a family burden has extra money to spend, what does she spend it on? Clothes for her children, essentials for her family. Of course, that is a TRADITONAL family....not today where women actually have the audacity to spend money on themselves. | ||

It is actually quite fessible that female gentics may be more dominate, and "evolving" to a greater degree than men, through time....I don't want to get into a big gentics debate about phenotypes, and expressed genes...but it is definatley possible... Just think with test injections we could rule in every catagory...and take over the world | ||

the suicide equation is unfair. men commit suicide 4x as much as women, but women attempt suicide 4x as much as men. women just use non-lethal means (pills, wrist cutting) while men use very lethal means (guns & rope). so in the end, the suicide rates are the same, men just go all the way with it. | ||

It just shows that men are more committed than woman in life and death. I don't buy that traditional crap, especially written by a woman in support of women. I don't spend money on toys and such when I have extra I spend it on bills incurred by the family or on savings. Men spend money on practical things such as car maintanence, utility bills, and such, and therefore we are labeled as spending the money on ourselves. Woman who have extra buy clothes, toys for the kids, food, stuff for the house, etc. And for them they are seen as spending the money frivously. But in each case it is all neccessary, it is just that woman see the priorities of the house differently than men. Great, injecting woman with testosterone to rule the world. That is all we need a woman with 1000 times the amount of male hormones running through her body and brain while on pms. Can we say Nuclear War? (hehe) | ||

Shagwell, if women starting shooting test and became Nicole Bass-like in their physique, no man would impregnate them!! You'd probably have to capture and extract sperm from them to fertilize your eggs. If your eggs would still ovulate...lol Kat, I suppose I should have stated my idea of traditional family values, etc. better than I did. I simply mean the traditional role of having a both husband&wife together in one marriage raising their family and cooperating together. These days both males and females feel they do not need each other for a constructive family lifestyle and I strongly disagree with that. Children need both a male & female model while they develop from infant to adolescent to adult. ------------------ | ||

in a perfect world Wfabrizio that would be great, but there are still many many more men who work the same or even less hours than their wives who come home and expect dinner on the table, who cannot even balance a chequebook, who think a hour moving the lawn is their contribution to the household. It is still a mans world, but I can see how men would like their old world back where they had everything.... | ||

I completely agree Kat. Don't despair, there are men out there who have all of the good qualities with little of the bad ones. Everybody has some poor qualities too. My advice: look at their familiy. Everybody eventually becomes just like their parents in the long run (for the most part anyways) ------------------ | ||

Okay, I have bit my tongue for a while now, women are not stronger because they can pull through their depression, they just don't have the commitment that it takes to really pull the trigger or swallow the poison or whatever. They are just crying for help and if men would just stop giving them the attention they would figure it out that know gives a shit that they are feeling down about the price of milk and they would get over it. Men just want to get away from the women. We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. We want the good but gotta have the bad. And we can only stand so much bitchin before we snap. it is probably one for. Men are designed by nature to be more expendable than women. a man can have up to 1,000 babies a year, a woman only about 2-3, tops. so one would assume that men are more hard wired to commit acts that can lead to death more than women (war & suicide). men aren't the weaker sex, we are just the more expendable sex. |
