If I have a workout that is going to likely lead to me overtraining - how long can one be on such a workout before you see problems? one day, two weeks, 3 months?
what if you are "on"?

I'm pretty sure my upcoming routine is going to lead to overtrianing, but I'll be on (but my workout partner won't), and I'm only going to do that routine for 4 weeks.

Any thoughts?

I've purposley overtrained for 4 weeks before, then took a week off. I felt great afterwards. Strength started going way down in the gym into the 4th week.

cool =- I've been doing hard stuff for 4 week intervals and then taking a week off and seeing huge gains. I'm always nervous of overtraining, but if this will avoid it then great - and when I'm "on" it will definitely help with it I'd assume.

Not too sure I agree with that strategy but if it works for you it works for you. I like staying just on the edge of overtraining. If I am not getting stronger I know something is up and I adjust. Personally I feel like shit when I am overtrained I have learned to almost feel it coming on.
