...and you were allowed to fly any plane/helicopter and go into battle what would you chose?

For me it would be the A10, I would love to fire that 30mm cannon.

2nd choice would be the USMC Harrier, backing up the boys on the ground.

I don't know military hardware, but I would love to fly one of those helicoptors and fire off some of the anti-tank rounds they have mounted on there. Kick ass!

Well I would love to fire a .50 cal machine gun on a hummer, or a 105 mm howitzer, but I am a nuke man and I would love to have nuked Bagdad with a 20 megaton thermo device. That is just me, though, most bang for the bucks.

Just kidding (maybe, maybe not)!

Ok, this post is friggin ridiculous. Stop the GI Joe crap. War sucks. Flying a fighter jet is all good until you're gettin shot at and wonder if your family will ever see you again. If you're in the military, your primary job is to train for combat. So gulf war or not, thats what you'll be doing. Its not glamorous so stop making it out to be.

But anyway, I wouldn't mind getting a piece of that fucker Hussein.

f16 definitely. its nice to fly something that can accelerate in a straight vertical climb. hehe

harriers are alright. i worked on them. they are heavy and slow but thier maneuverability is greatly increased with vertical movement capabilities. not a big payload for air to air combat but good as hell for ground support.

next would have to be an a-10, flying bathtub. safe for getting shot by rounds thats for sure.

a cobra may be my choice for helos, just because they are so small and narrow. its like flying in a small box with firepower.

im with conan..... on the ground is where the real stories come from..... war is too long distance today, no one takes pride in looking at the person you're killing anymore. sounds sick, maybe, but any other infantrymen know what im talking about.

Pat1USMC is correct, war is a sick thing. But... if we're getting hypothetical. The apache helecoptor is the singlemost bad ass air weapon out there. Do you know how many radar sites those things took out so the majority of our aircraft could go on their bombing runs??? Very underrated piece of equipment, you don't see any of our allies flying those or the stealth figher. And there's a reason why.

P.S. The A10 warthog is bad but the ammo that is carried in the nose carries degreaded uranium or plutonium which causes cancer to the poor guys who load it.
