What kind of scotch do you all like?

I've been on a little mini-bender these past 3 days. A fifth of Johnny Walker Red, JW Black, and J&B tonight. I love this stuff but haven't tried a single malt yet. I hear Glenlevitt is pretty good and moderately priced for a single malt. After tonight i'm just going back to drinking on the weekends and I'm looking for some good stuff to try. I don't have a ton of money to spend on it, so if you can recommend something decent I'd appreciate it.

Ahhh I'm not big on gin. I got in a little rut with some Tangurey awhile back but the shit tastes like pine trees to me. I'm not looking for a cheap buzz. I don't have anything against it but I'm at the point where I enjoy the taste of scotch.

I'm not a drinker, but I've heard Cutty Sark is good, might be expensive tho'

How about some OE800 or KingCobra, that's like 3.50 for an 80oz. lol!

a man after my own heart. Glenlivet is a reasonably priced single malt.

but my favourite is (far and away) Laphroaig. a real scotch experience and if you appreciate quality there is NOTHING better.

Macallan's 25 years old would be second.

I like Jim Beam over Jack. I can drink just about anything but I've really grown accustomed to the taste of scotch. I've had some violent tendancies on Jim Beam. I know it isn't rational since booze is booze all depending on the proof, but bouron just seems to make me mean.

Vodka just aint my bag. I was never fond of the light liquors like vodka, rum, and gin. I like some nice dark rum now and again though. Scotch, bourbon, and Irish whisley (Jamesons and Bushnills or is it bushmills never get that right) is about the only thing I like straight up with the exceptions of shots.

Some Scotches that I have come across in my bartending days that are OLD & EXPENSIVE are: Glenfiddich & Glenmarangie. Both will set you back a pretty penny. We charged $12$ for 1 ounce of both at the tavern I was working at the time.

Te-kill-ya. When I was 14 i was at a buddy's brother's New Years Eve bash and I got totally ripped on Tequila. Started out the night with a pint of Hot Damn, half a pint of peppermint shnaps, mugs of beer, and topped it all of with 14 shots of tequila. Some older broad was making the last few shots with the salt and lime added in (ahh makes me want to ralph thinking about it). Needless to say I've did my best to avoid tequila and hot damn to this day.

I want to try the blue label. Gold is next on my list. I think it runs about $75 a fifth.
