Yes, I hate them.

You're going 50, you have to stop short and the car just keeps going.

What a great invention :-P

My dad was in the car with me today on a back road and said once you pass this car slam your brakes I wanna show you something. So I did and my back tires went out to the left. It was pretty cool to learn cause there were no other cars or people around [school was still in], but shit good thing he told me what to do so if that ever happens w/ cars around I won't be screwed.

I love my anti-lock brakes. Hell, I love the brakes on my car period. If I'm not careful, they give me whiplash.

In the entire time I've been driving my car, I've had to make only one quick stop. I was doing 50mph and the guy in front of me decided that it would be a good idea to stop at a yellow light. 50mph-0mph nice and quickly, I didn't skid off to the right or the left AND I stopped miles behind the car in front of me.

ABS = my friend.

i agree abs is good,i think it depends on how serviced they are and they work different from car to car

it prevents your car from locking up..i saw a thing on TV when they took a vet and nailed on the brakes real hard with and without aniutlock brakes at high speed's and without it the car spun around like 14 times..it was a wet surface..with abs they didnt spin at all..

Yea, Justin, that's the whole idea behind ABS. It's so awesome. Apparently, when you slam on the brakes and you have ABS, the little brake pads touch & release like 238957329743024832 times a second instead of just holding on for dear life. That way, instead of just becoming a sliding object skidding and spinning across the street, the car is still "rolling forward," but it's coming to a fast stop.

It all depends on the brakes in your car. If you have shitty brakes then obviously your car is going to take forever to stop - it's not the fault of the ABS.

Again... ABS rules. =)

ok umm i can think of several wrecks (not by me, only one) that were attributed to cars that DIDN'T have abs

mine could have been totally prevented by abs. if the ground is even the slightesdt bit slick, u are fucked wiht disk brakes, u just have to be real careful.

it sucks, ABS should be gov't standard but it isnt

abs is great. I just got a Grand Cherokee that has them and that thing will stop on a dime. I agree that they should be on every vehicle. They definitely work. The pedal feels weird, but it's easy to get used to.
