I haven't been getting anywhere with my current protein intake. How much muscle can I expect to gain by increasing my protein intake from about 100g a day to over 200g a day? I weigh 200 lbs with 21% bodyfat. Thanks.

it depends, but you will definetely notice improvements. when i upped my protein intake i started growing more than ever before. i eat crazy amounts of protein. if i were you i would up my protein to 300g-400g a day.

I think the suggestion for protein intake is 1.5 - 2 times your body weight. more hard core BB use 3 times there body weight or more.

Example: your body weight is 200 lbs - take 200 grams - 300 grams of protein a day.

protein intake depends on your goals. I would suggest you maximize your protein and minimize your carbs in order to bring fat percentage down while preserving, or even adding muscle. Don't drop fat (saturated included) bellow 20% of total caloric intake so as not to interfere with testosternone production. Good luck!

If you want to build muscle mass, I don't recommend cutting down your carb intake. Usually if you want to build high quality muscle, it's during the offseason. During this time, you want to eat a lot of carbs, a lot of protein and good percentage of fat. No more than 20% fat. During the offseason, I recommend getting your calories from 50% carbs, 35% protein and 15% fat. The high protein and low carb diet may help you, but you may feel brain dead from lack of carbs. I do at least. The only real time you should cut carbs is when cutting up and your cutting cycle should be no longer than 12 weeks. I've also noticed that I've packed on more muscle when I eat good amounts carbs. I also gain fat, but I'm satisfied with my gains when I cut up.
