Pictures in this section are studies in form, taken both from contest photography and from informal shoots at various locations.  It was for this kind of material that I first began to shoot at contests - looking for the art that bodybuilding likes to proclaim itself to be about, and trying to emulate the tradition of the great painters and sculptors whose idealized physiques formed the model for the revival of interest in physique art in this century.   Sometimes these works are "found" because of an unusual pose or movement; others are selected close-ups and cropping intended to examine the physique through the medium of form.....or may be simply ineffable in their impact.
