I wasn't sure where to put this, so hope this is okay.
I was wondering views on sports drinks while exersizing? I know that sodium doesn't help weight loss, and the whole point (as far as I know) of those drinks is to replace sodium lost through sweat, so what is the forum's view on them?
I'm talking things like Gatorade, Powerade those kinda things.

stay away from these corporate based sports drinks. gatorade and powerade are owned by pepsi and coke. they are beverages, they aren't nutritious at all.

during weight training the truth is you absolutely do not need electrolytes like this. you aren't sweating or losing enough to warrant it. if you were doing hot yoga or sweating buckets from long distance running then yes you can benefit from electrolytes. one product i recommend is Ultima. you can also simply put some salt and cream of tartar in water and drink that
