high volume for women

Reading logs online and on instagram it seems like there is a lot of volume reps for weight training which seems excessive to me. generally I see 20 sets per body part for people who are natural. do you think that would count as over training and what kind of volume do you think would be more suitable for females?

that type of volume is high for any gender per body part. the idea behind weight and resistance training isn't to exhaust the muscle to death, it is to break the muscle fibers down. there is no way you need 20 sets per muscle to accomplish that.

It depends on your goals really. If I am going for strength I will do 2-5 reps, muscle growth 8-12 reps, endurance 15+ reps.

It depends on intensity and frequency. If you ate doing each body part once a week volume training is fine especially if you aren't training to failure. I do 20 sets or so on all large muscle groups per workout
