Diets effect periods?

I've been eating paleo (mostly - still on dairy) for about two weeks now. My period is 5 days late (not pregnant). My period is never regular but it's usually only off by a day or two. As it stands I don't even have a hint of PMS symptoms yet.
Is this typical? Or at least, not unusual?

define what paleo means.

the true paleo diet is fantastic and I 100% support it

the paleo diet these morons on social media push is not really paleo. and i know people who follow 'paleo diet' who drink wine, protein shakes and eat chikFilA. because i'm sure a million years ago cavemen sat around ferminting grape juice, milking cows and turning that into protein powder, and were smart enough to process refined peanut oil.

There have been some studies suggesting that diets high in fiber may be associated with lower estrogen levels, which in turn can lead to irregular periods. However, moderation is predominant, "Chan says. Your diet includes a good - but not excessive - fiber that is important to your overall health.
