Working out through injuries

I have a shoulder injury but feel like light weight workouts could help the area more than taking a rest and doing nothing,. What do you guys think ?
 
What is your injury?
 
How bad is it.
Usually I would recommend just taking time off or at least avoiding stressing it even more. If anything maybe some mobility stuff to maintain normal range of motion.
 
I would book an appointment with a good sports physiotherapist and get his advice.

You can turn a mild injury into a serious one if you aren't careful
