Weights & flexibility

Do you think its a good idea to use weight to increase your range of flexibility? Ive seen people do this to push past a point they may have been stuck on for some time. seems painful though.
 
Not smart. You can very easily rip a muscle doing weighted stretches.

Stick with bodyweight stretching
 
Assisted stretching with another person is more advised than using weights. You could prmote an injury easily.
