Weight training and work schedule

I have a unique work schedule where I rotate in 12-hour shifts.
My plan is to do a 5-day split were one of the splits would be just cardio
I plan on doing this on just my work days and sleeping in on my off days to get my body to rest
do you think this plan is sound or should I work out on my two off days and then sneak in 3 workouts on work days and do it that way

i would try to train full body on rest days and not train during your 12 hour shift days
better that way for results and recovery

Hard to suggest, you know your body best, so do what is good for you, remember that recovery just as important, plus clean diet, sleep, supplementation

Not even close to being unique.
