weight lifting to improve power and strength

RugbyPlayer21

New member
I play rugby and would like to know what weight lifting techniques are best for improving power and strength!

Any help much appriciated

the ruggers I know do alot of power moves-- cleans, deads, hi-bar full squats, low-bar PL squats, pushpress, power/ hang cleans...etc..

check out Bill Starrs book on FB training & theres some info that applies to rugby.

yeh, stick to the basics but mix up speed/intensity/rep range. lift heavy but be smart, good tech etc.

First off, how old are you? Second off, what's your lifting experience?

Wheather you're a beginner or pro, there are certain lifts that are a must. They include but are not limited to squats (high bar, overhead, front, high rep) , dead lifts and rack pulls, snatch lifts (snatch pulls, cleans, deadlifts), glute-ham raises, and high pulls.
