trying out for football team next year

Hey, I am going out for college football next year as a walk on. I played in high school but no scholarship was offered so i gotta do it the old fashioned way to make the team then hopefully get a scholarship with a bigger school. my issue is in high school we didn't have a weight training facility (went to school in rural Indiana) and we were too poor. so what program should i get on now that i have access to a good gym?

5x5 compound lifting is what i recommend all guys start with their first few years. every great bodybuilder or athlete started out that way cause you gotta build a strong base. don't go in there and start doing curls like your buddies in front of the mirror for 30 minutes

stick to the big lifts

I always recommend starting out with a 5x5 program. The compound lifts will promote the most growth and progress. It will also allow you to master form before you start adding isolation movements.
