training programs vs. just winging it?

Excerpt: I am a younger guy but have gotten frustrated with training routines like splits and 5X5 etc. I seem to spend too much time mapping out workouts and less time actually working out. What I do now is just look at my body and learn what needs to be hit that day and I cater to the needs and wing it that day. is this approach a long term strategy?

    i would not completely rely on that. you don't want to end up like a lot of guys and only having a strong chest and arms but lacking legs and back cause that is all you see in the mirror

    imbalance is a real problem with younger guys

    It doesn't take long. 30 mins tops vs 16 weeks cycles of training

    I like to use some of those programs to help build my own. Once done, just follow it for as long as you want.
