Excerpt: I am taking a little leave of absence from work as I am switching positions and between the stimulus money and my tax refund I can easily live for a couple months no problem. this means I have nothing else to do except train and eat for the next 2 months. I want to weight train at least 5 times a week, but also I want to do some running to improve my stamina. I was thinking maybe 5 to 8 miles a day. Do you think this is too much cardio, I'm 30 years old

Re: Taking some time away from work
I would start running 1 mile per day for 2 weeks, then 2 miles for 2 weeks then 3 miles and so on, dont start with an 8 mile run from 0

Listen to your body. It will let you know if you are over doing it

Re: Taking some time away from work
You will burn out quick and quit if you aren't doing anything close to that today. I recommend increasing your training and cardio slowly. Do not become obsessed.
