Excerpt: What is the most weight you can squat with reasonable speed ie no pause at the top between reps? I do speed work from time to time and can manage multiple sets of 180kgx10 without any pauses etc (sub 25secs). Interested to hear if any of you incorporate speed work into your routine to develop power?

    What is the most weight you can squat with reasonable speed ie no pause at the top between reps? I do speed work from time to time and can manage multiple sets of 180kgx10 without any pauses etc (sub 25secs).

    at my peak i was squatting small cars, nowadays it is way less but i make sure my form is perfect.

    i really recommend box squats to help with power, plus they keep you honest so you don't cheat

    I don't do that kinda work. I am using 500-660lb on Hatfield Squats.

    I havent squatted in a few years. Before I blew my dics out I went heavy. Now I cant squat at all without aggravation

    I don't ever train for speed reps in squatting, but rather I try to stay heavy and with good form and depth (as if every rep were in a powerlifting meet and I don't want any red lights).
