LOL, now you got me thinkin about this. I know one thing is certain. It definately* feels like your going a lot lower with a close stance because it's a whole lot harder to keep your center of gravity and hit parallel. I think your right though. Look at your hips and knees on both positions and they will be at the same angle(90 degrees or higher). I just think the bar is lower to the floor with a wider stance.
