smith machine thoughts

Excerpt: the gym that is opened near me does not have a regular squat rack or bench press, but it has a smith machine which you can convert to either. the reason is it is a private unmonitored gym so they don't want people getting injured. is this worth me signing up for or should i wait until the bigger gym opens?

    here is the thing though. you CAN get injured on smith machine.

    there have been people die on those things overnight. and besides the motion of the smith machine is not natural and cannot build core strength. i'm just not a fan of them at all and think they do more harm than good sorry

    I have a private gym and will not be buying a smith machine. I use a power rack for safety.

    I personally love the Smith machine. It excellent for preventing injuries.

    I have no issues with a smith machine. You can even do dumbbell variations for your squats as well.

    I wouldnt be a fan of using Smith machine exclusively but it's a nice variation for accessory work and good for presses if you have shoulder issues

    great piece of equipment especially for overhead shoulder exercises that otherwise would be risky with loose weights
