what do you people think about useing a shrug bar v.s straight bar for deAD LIFTS.. as i am 6'5" tall and the reguarl bar makes me bend over to much and it bothers my lower back and i scape the hell out of my chins........thnx :chomp:

I prefer a trap bar myself.......you can move the weight more through the centerline of the body

Lots of people swear by them as better than a trad'l bar for deadlifting. Unless you plan to compete in powerlifting comps, I'd use the bar that's working best for you. It's just a diff't bar. Not better or worse except as it fits/doesn't fit the individual lifter, IMO.

For the shrug bar, would I need to stand further back then my hand grip? For Shrugs I have my foot placement even with my hands gripping. To do a dead lift with the Shrug Bar, would I need to scoot my foot placement further back?
