shin splints question

I wonder why I get bad shin splints when I run on the street but not when I get on the treadmill if I'm doing the
same exercise, thanks.

The surface of the treadmill is regular, the surface of the street is not. The treadmill has impact damping system, the street has not. You may think it is the same exercise, but it is not.

a treadmill is actually a great way to make your shin splints worse because you will heel strike on a treadmill

i wouldn't run on either.. the best way to run to avoid problems entirely is barefoot on grass.

under no circumstances should you be running on sidewalk

Running on concrete is very hard on your knees and ankles. It's a very hard surface.

Try to run on grass whenever possible
