Had an overall good time and met some cool people. The gym was small as was the number of lifters, about 15 in the full meet and ~20 total benchers. Weighed in at 222 (damn those 2 extra pounds) so that put me in 242 SM1. It was hot as always in South Ga. and the A/C was out so the doors were open. It was cooler outside than in. I was surprised that there were two flights, given the heat I would've liked more rest but no big deal. I had the biggest opener on squat (600), asked for 655 for my second. Had trouble getting it out of the rack and blew my "stokeage" and missed but came back and nailed it solid on the third. The closest squats were a 575 (220 M) and 550 (242 open).

Warming up on bench I could tell I was drained. Opened with 425 and missed 440 twice. There was a 242? at 50 years old that got a 475 in a t-shirt and a 275 that barely missed a 500 an ended up with 475. So I ended up with 3rd biggest bench overall.

Going into DL I had the 2 closest guys covered by 125 and 155 lbs, but my DL sucks so I knew I couldn't relax. Pulled 500, then 525 and made 550 look like it was welded to the floor. The 242-open got a 675 on his second (no suit) and barely missed 705. The 220 M pulled a 605 on his third.

So I ended up winning my division (only 1 in it), and second overall. There were 3 overall best lifter trophies for 165 and below, 166 to 220 and 221 and up. The 242-open totaled 1630 at 238 bdywt and won 220-up overall. I had 1605 at 222. The other dude had a 1530 at 219.

But now that I do the numbers, I get 1630/238 = 6.85 and 1605/222 = 7.23 . Looks like I won overall??? Or is there another "formula" ?? Anyway I had a good time and am glad it's over so I can relax.

Nice #'s , have you thought about doing the APF sothern state championships. in Daytona Dec.1 i know a lot of guys on this board doig it. t should be a great meet.

Mann, yes it is a new EHPHD. It worked awesome for me during training, it was all I could do to get 440 to touch. But in the meet, it was tough getting 425 down, and the lockout was super slow. 440 would just not go up, got it about halfway. I did end up going to a size bigger shirt, 'cuz the other one was just too tight. Maybe it was too loose? I didn't have the ususal blood blisters on my triceps.

I forgot to mention that all 3 events as well as the total were meet PR's for me.

that's what i was wondering man,if they were PR's........awesome job.....training went well for you then.....:D i hope for a PR this weekend...mine is a bench only though.....those are awesome numbers bro.......great job:angel:

Powerbuilder,

That was some good lifting. You asked about how to figure out who was the best lifter whilst taking into account bodyweight. There are formulae available to do this.....one of which is the Wilk's formula (see link for calculator):

http://www.powerliftingsa.co.za/wilks_calculator.htm

A calculator for converting pounds to kilo's is here:

http://www.onlineconversion.com/weight.htm

The numbers that you gave give the following results:

You: 441.840
Other guy (238lber): 437.632

The higher numer represents the better lifter.......so you win. Congratulations.
