Running in the sand

the first time i developed shin splints was from running on the beach due to the uneven ground

i'm not against running on sand, but make sure it is a flat surface and make sure you aren't running on uneven sand, you can get an ankle or knee injury stepping wrong

Is running in the sand a good idea or bad one? I wanted to know if its advantageous to train in the sand ?

You need to look out for snipers and giant killer crabs.

Or you could try running on sand and finding out for yourself.

I think it's great. Running on a soft surface like sand or grass puts less impact on your knees then running on a hard surface like concrete.
