My question is is it OK to replace overhead shoulder press for 3x3 with bench presses on the mon and friday and light bench for the wednesday for the df 5x5.
The reason being is I am on the 6th week of the df and my chest is sore as fuck.
Previous to starting the df i did SF 5x5 for avout 11 weeks with no chest probs.
When I started the 5x5 df I did flat bench twice a week (mon and Fri)and incline(wed) once a week. 3 times a week has proved to much for me and when I try to bench now I get a fairly severe pain in my pecs up towards the shoulder.
I do not get any pain doing shoulder presses.
Is this a good idea to lay of flat bench till the end of the df 5x5 which is 3 more weeks.
I am pretty pissed off because I was making great gains but I figure its better than doing more damage.
What are peoples suggstions?
