"Convincingly deep"

hellboy said:
Well I'm not a powerlifter but just this statement:

4. You won't "get buried" by the weight. If you move quick enough, your muscle fibers and equipment will rebound you up at least to half way;

Seems stupid and dangerous. It sounds like he's suggesting that the person bounce at the bottom. I can just hear the knees and tendons popping when you try to bounce with tons of weight on your back. Also, aren't you supposed to pause at the bottom and wait for a light or something?

I doubt he's suggesting a bounce, probably more like a quick, but controlled switch from the bottom to the upward movement.

It could be different in other fed's, I have no idea, but the only commands I've ever been given on the squat are 'squat' while i'm standing and 'rack' when i'm at the top. Never had to pause at the bottom, only in bench.
