question for powerlifters out there

My question starts with how do power liftrers really train? I see on social media them doing tons of weight and screaming and yelling with guys around them but that seems like it is over done. also did you start out super strong when you were a teenager or were you weak and then had to build yourself up? I am amazed at how much weight some guys can do
 
no i did not start out strong at all. but i understood what weight training was all about at a young age which helped me improve, plus i was consistent.

those videos you see online are just for clicks, they treat it like it is some sort of war or something with music and all that.
 
They typically lift heavy and with low reps, long rest. The key is to progressively increase your weights. That's not to say that this is always the case, just what I commonly see.
