Question about son's scapula

I've attached two pics of my 19 year old son's back. He's been weight lifting for a couple of years (lost about 100lbs!) He mentioned that he could feel the difference in how his left scapula sticks out while benching. I took a look today and got some pics. Does anyone know what this is?

I'm inclined to think he has some kind of problem mis alignment on his upper vertebraes and that's what is causing the scapula retractment.

Take him to a doctor, no one's opinion here is more qualified than a medical advice. You should also check this link and contact a specialist on active release techniques. Active Release Techniques®

Hope it helps.

Seeing a doctor would be the best thing for him IMO.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning toward the scapula winging myself. He needed an excuse to got see our ever so hot doctor so I'll send him the first chance he gets. Poor kid is taking full tome classes and working full time. He works out before school, when he gets home before work, and again at night. I'm sure he can squeeze in a doctors appointment somewhere.
