I never really used to think about it, but now that I have included my own simple method of periodisation, (week off, 6-8 weeks building up weights, cruise week, 6-8 weeks continuing to build, week off, change routine and start from the beginning) I feel that my strength and size gains have really improved as well as my overall feeling of well being. I have also not had any niggling injury’s. So, IMO, Yes!
It’s a mistake to think of rest periods as non-productive. This is the time for your body to rest and grow…
