Radar, what's the cause for concern?

Basically, post workout is the only time I'd recommend simple sugars... Probably up to 80 g in OWL's situation. I too drink Gatorade/coconut water (I'm kind of a purist so I usually choose the coconut water, but it does contain trace fat, so it's a trade off) with my supps after a lift.

The idea is that high glycemic carbs at this time not only replete glycogen, but stimulate endogenous insulin secretion... Kinda like no-risk insulin use ;) Simultaneously, this fast shot of simple carb helps shut down gluconeogenesis -- that is, it tells the body not to burn muscle for fuel.

It is true that this can be overdone, but in OWL's case, 16-20 oz Gatorade post workout is only going to increase his absorption of supplements, get him a faster recovery (shut off cortisol!!!) and give him some real hydration (ie with electrolytes).

Cranberry juice is fine too... But there are 30 g sugar in 8 oz. Far more than Gatorade... Did you mean light cranberry juice?

Subbed bro.. This reminds me of the volume I used to do when I was at school and just started lifting... (with a fraction of the weight hahah) haven't done anything like it in years.. Giving me some ideas.

Zed I shoot for 6000 per day. I normally come in no lower than 5500 but average around 5800.

Hell I am eating now!!!! Lol I eat and sleep like it's my job bro.
