neck muscle strain and work out

Hi guys I strained a muscle on my neck playing rugby and my neck is very stiff so I can even turn my head side ways, it's been a week and the pains is still there, so it's been a week of the gym which is a lot for me, do you guys think work out my arms and my lower could put any type of indirect effort on my neck and make my injury worse than it is? I can't be this long off the gym, thank you.

You need to see a good chiropractor or sports therapist ASAP.

Your skull rests on your atlas. It is a ball and socket joint. It is very easy for your atlas to fall out of place (which it sounds like has happened to you).

Don't take this lightly. Get it professionally checked out. It will be well worth the money.

The only way to know would be to try some of the exercises and see how you respond. Other than that it will just take time to heal up.

Nothing wrong with having the injury looked at either.

I would definatly NOT go to the gym till you are healed. Heat stretch then ice. And carefully
