Neck injury doing barbell rows

Gymbob

New member
Ive just started bringing in barbell rows into my back routine (opposed to dumbell rows which i normally do)

The problem is i keep pulling muscles in my neck, nothing major its just annoying and i could do without it.

I have been pulling the weight to just below my chest and keeping my head down so the traps arnt worked instead, is this the correct form?

Does anyone know what i am doing wrong?

Thanks.

You probably know this already:

back straight as opposed to slightly rounded and upper body parallel or almost to the ground.

and knees slightly bent.

I have no problems with my head up.

Try bringing the bar lower than just below the chest. . . Im usually doing them at my stomach

Your head should always be looking up...this should take the stress off your neck a lot.

Thanks for the help fella's. I cant remember who told me to do them with my head down, probably the guy at the gym with the neck brace on :)

I'll try them has you said anyway and see how i go on.
