Nautilus

By now we all know one of the keys to gaining strength: USE FREE WEIGHTS!

But Nautilus/Cable machines cant be avoided totally, which isnt a bad thing....My question is which exercises do you fellas use cables (non-free weight) for???Here are some of mine:

Leg Extension
Reverse Leg Curl
Lat Pulldown
Tricep Pushdown
Various Smith Machine exercises (Close Grip Bench, Shoulder Press)

*I always switch up the exercises each week, but these appear very frequently in my workout.

i rotate from d/n laterals(side.rear, front)to cables.also i use pushdowns to warm myelbows for heavy skull crushers or jm presses.

Seems to me that the balance issue applies mostly to pressing excercises, such as squats, bench, mil, etc. They all require the use of underused stablizer muscles, wherein lies the benefit.

However, when you're doing back, which mostly involves pulling exercises, rows, pulldowns etc..., there's not really much to balance. Pulling is pulling.

So, for me, I'll use the machines for back stuff, maybe curls and leg extensions, but not really for anything else.

I'm not a fella, but i do the following 'non-free weight' exercises

with cables
cable crunches
tricep extensions
cable flyes
double bicep curls (with elbows out to sides) (just started these...luv 'em)

with machines
ham curls
quad ext
lateral raises (warmup)
pec-dec (facing machine for rear delts)
pulldowns
low rows

occasionally smith machine squats

that's about it...
