There was a time early in my college career where a guy got a reputation for being able to do 2 sets of 100 pushups each. I set out a goal to do this and at one point was able to get to 100 pushups, but the 2nd set was always never came close to 100.

On a side note:

The longest record for non-stop pushups:

Charles Linster (USA) 6,006 05-Oct-1965
Robert Louis Knecht (USA) 7,026 05-Feb-1976
Henry C. Marshal (USA) 7,650 01-Sep-1977
Minoru Yoshida (JAP) 10,507 Oct-1980

10k pushups that is insane...

I used to do 300 finger tip pushups every morning... in sets of 50. Once I got to the point I could do it... it was very easy. 300 flew by... and it didn't even take 5 minutes to do all the sets. Occasionally, I'd do it in sets of 100.

Something wierd happens when you do this every day. It's really hard to work your way up to it... but then once you can do it it and do it every day it is really easy and just flies by.

are we counting during sex too?

Those are cock pushups. They are different.

Air Force PT test required as many correct pushups as possible in one minute, I pushed out around 66 on my last PT test. Not bad, But I think I could do plenty more with no time limit.

I never actually tried to do push ups until I dropped, but in two minutes my best was 58... officially.

I suck at pushups... I'm working to break 65 by early June for a test I have to take. It's hard incorporating them with Madcow's.

Aren't you laughing your ass off at these numbers. The most I've ever seen or heard a guy do in the Army in 12 years is 134 in 2 minutes.

Yeah, most people have to rest at the one minute mark, and then the lactic acid starts to build up. Even if you did one per second it would only be 60 at the one minute mark.
