lifting with strained groin

Hi guys I injured my groin 4 days ago, the pain is insane, the best recovery is resting but I can't rest for too long otherwise I won't go back to the gym in months, I was wondering if working out on my upper body could put any type of stress on my groin , upper body except abs, thank you.
 
You should be OK. You just need to be careful with upper body exercises that train your core like standing overhead barbell shoulder presses etc. Do them seated instead.

Have you gotten your groin checked out by a good sports therapist? It might actually be a hernia. A groin pull should go away in a few days.

I would get it properly checked out before you do anything else.
 
You just have to give it a try and see how it feels. You should be ok with working upper body but you never know what kind of stress it will put on other body parts until you try.
