I agree somewhat to the rotator cuff problem. Since years of heavy benching etc. although making the muscles bigger and stronger will have a negative effect on the rotator cuff. The shoulders will actually become structurally weaker and this causes the problem of injury and so on. So it is crucial to include some rotator cuff training in a routine. This is advocated by experts such as Charles Poliquin and Paul Chek.

in front... regardless of your form!

think of how you have to crook your neck forward, is that good for your posture? with that being said, are you in the most advantagous position to exert max force? do you have to hunch your shoulders forward to get it there? again bad leverage. do you have to hyperextend your shoulders back...stress on your shoulder joint.

all in all a bad way to go. pull to the front with a slight lean back. thats the ticket.
