jump roping before or after lifting?

I like to jump rope like for 20 or 30 minutes and it is a good cardio workout. my question is should i do it before i lift weights or afterwards? keep in mind i am jump roping on a hard surface so my legs usually feel sore after i finish. i wonder if i should try and find a more soft surface and that would help?
 
I always do cardio after lifting. I don't think there is necessarily a right or wrong. Whatever allows you to get it done. Me personally, I would rather have more energy for my weight lifting session and then do cardio after.
