Isometric holds

Can you get strong from alot of isometric holds? Like especially for the arms being able to hold a pull up for a minute. Can I get strong doing that ?
 
been there and done that.. it won't come close to weight and resistance training

if you are already muscular and were to hypothetically quit the gym and just do that you will notice your muscle mass gradually drops over time and so will strength.

nothing wrong with that though, then cycling back to the gym. that break might do you a lot of good
