Increasing lung capacity with intervals?

I`m weight training 3 x a week and would like to increase my endurance/lung capacity with an (recumbent) exercise bike. Would the interval cycling do that? or should I just go steady for like 45 minutes 2-3 times a week? If not How do I do interval on a bike? thanks
 
warmup...low level 5 min.

you can interval a couple different ways.

ramping up in intensity.
ex. Level 5 1 min, level 6 1 min, level 7 1 min, level 8 1min. repeat.

or...

high/low intervals.
ex. Level 8 2min. level 5 1-2 min.

remember, you probably wont go too long initially on this type of program but it will definitely build some wind in your sails (increase your VO2max)
