incline or flat bench first

I've had two personal trainers in the past , one of them used to say inlcine bench was better to do first, then the second guy I had used to say flat bench first is the correct way to do it , this are stupid details but what's the difference?

Switch it up. Incline bench will work more of the upper chest. If this is an area of concern for you then do it first. If you feel your chest is pretty even then just change it up from time to time.

Incline bench press prioritizes the upper chest where as flat bench press prioritizes the lower chest. Most people have under developed upper chests so they will put more emphasis on incline movements like incline bench press, incline dumbell fly etc when doing their chest workouts.

What you need to do is analyze your physique and see which part of your chest is lacking.
If you upper chest is underdeveloped - start with incline movements
If you lower chest is under developed - start with flat/decline movements
If your chest is even - alternate between starting with incline and flat/decline movements each workout

The difference is the emphasis of which part of the chest muscle is utilised.

Incline chest targets more upper chest, whereas flat bench is more for overall and lower chest development.

That being said, it depends on your current shape and what you want to focus on. Its always good to alternative inbetween these two.
