I benched 300

Excerpt: I was out of the gym for 4 years and I've been making a comeback. I had torn both rotator cuffs that required surgery. I've been working out consistently for a few months now. I hit the 300 press weighing 195. I used to be a powerlifter and benched 405 weighing 190. I'm not sure if I'm going to compete again but it felt good to bench something relatively heavy...not bad for a 38 year old coming back from tearing both rotators.

    I benched 300

    I was out of the gym for 4 years and I've been making a comeback. I had torn both rotator cuffs that required surgery. I've been working out consistently for a few months now. I hit the 300 press weighing 195. I used to be a powerlifter and benched 405 weighing 190. I'm not sure if I'm going to compete again but it felt good to bench something relatively heavy...not bad for a 38 year old coming back from tearing both rotators.

    Nice! I think I remember you posting before about getting back into it. That's sweet I'm 185 benching 275 can't wait for 300 myself

    good job. i remember when i nailed 315 for the first time. i just wanted to feel what it was like to push that much weight.

    I do not max anymore. but when i was going for strength I would max once a month just to see where i was at with a very diligent spotter.

    well why not? is more like the question you should be answering...
    but i will tell you for myself, i compete in powerlifting, and 1rm is kind of a neccecity for that...

    I don't get it? Is there something wrong with seeing how much weight you can lift for a single repitition?

    hell no there aint...
    takes a lot more balls to get under a bar that has tripple your bodyweight on it... that is for sure...

    Congrats man...presses have always been my strong suite, unlike squats or deadlifts.

    I bench, squat and deadlift the same amount - 405 lbs lol
