How to increase strength?

I am trying to increase my max on all my core exercises, bench; deadlift; and squat. Max for bench and squat is 315 (I have chicken legs I know) and deadlift is 425. Is the 5x5 routine the best, and are there any other routines I could use to add strength.
 
There an infinite number of routines. The trick is to find one that works for YOU. Stick to 5x5 for a couple of months, then switch to an ME style where you work up to a one rep max. Go until you get stale on each one. Bottom line... if it is working for you, it is good.
 
I'd do strength training: very heavy weights doing 3-5 reps max. Then I'd do a few one rep sets...to push myself to the limit.
