Excerpt: I am desperate to grow my muscles and I want to get those big biceps I see in bodybuilders. The literature says hypertrophy is how you break down muscle to grow them. I’ve always been a strength guy, growing muscle stronger and denser vs. Small lean size. I hear increasing reps to 15 and drop sets work great. But why? Is it from more blood in the muscle?

You should do more negatives and super sets you'll see a lot more big and dense muscle.

it is breaking down the muscle fibers and them growing back stronger. it is training the muscle to force growth and strength
for some this is easy and for others it is hard. genetics play the biggest role.

bro blood going into the muscle feeds the muscle. that is a part of it but not the main part

Keep it simple man. Train around the 8-12 rep range with 45 second rest periods. That is a good start.
