    depends on your budget.....can't beat free weights and a bench

    well, where can I get a fullset? I'd like to remain under $500 if possible (dont laugh I'm new to this stuff)

    Try you local sporting good store first, then maybe a specialty store for exercise equiptment.

    Power Rack $250(MOST IMPORTANT INVESTMENT)
    Adjustable bench $100
    Olympic Bar set $150

    These are high estimations for prices. You can do better...and with the money left over get an adjustable dumbell set.

    That really is all you need for a good home gym. That is all I would buy. Keep it simple.
