I haven't been able to find a gym out there in my town that allows any sort of lifting
I was disappointed when I had the conversation with the gym owner and I asked them if we were allowed to do cleans and he said no because damage to the floor and equipment.
do any of you just do these types of lifts at home in your basement or should i just forget it altogether

They cause damage if you drop the equipment. So don't drop it - problem sorted.

Home gym is great if you don't have a hardcore gym near you.
