That's one option. You can also do upper lower or push/pull/legs and so on.
There's no one way to skin a cat. Find what works for you, what you enjoy, stick to the plan and you'll see results.
    It's all about consistency.

    Re: Good workout routine

i mean there are basically 3 ways to train

    1. 5X5 type compound lifting
    2. full body
    3. split routines

i really like new lifters to do the first one the first few years to build a strong base. then you can transition to split routines during your prime years.. and then the full body routines are good for when you get older or want to give the body a break for a period of time due to injuries or lack of time

    What's your training history?
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great

No. You need rest and recovery. Try every other day and train half one and half the other.

    Re: Good workout routine

I would check out my size and strength e-book -> https://trevorkouritzin.com/product/...ining-program/

Full body workouts are good for building strength but they don't have enough volume for optimal muscle growth.

In my size and strength e-book, I have you training each muscle group twice per week. That's the perfect amount of frequency IMO
