Getting into lifting

Had some time off recovering from an injury. I did a pretty solid workout and now I am seriously super sore. Should I give myself the time to recover ? Or just go through the pain and lift?
 
you get sore after a workout because your body is in shock. so it reacts by increasing inflammation

if you did the same workout over and over in 3 weeks from now you wouldn't be sore anymore. hope that makes sense. it is your BODY REACTING

as for your question working out while sore is a great way to injure yourself. i would recommend doing an upper and lower body split until you regain your conditioning. this way while one part is sore you work the other
