I was wondering how you guys pick which execises you are going to use.
I see many routines using the same exercises but with a twist ex;

cable rows
hammer rows

They are the same movement. They both strchth the midback.. why do both?

Also
incline bb press
incline db press..

Just do one...

When I pick exercises I try ti thik of POF and muscle sections. ex;

Back-
lats chins
lats stretch pullovers
lat contraction reverse grip bb rows

midback- behind neck chins
midback stretvh- cable rows
midback contraction - wide grip bb rows/ rear delt raise

Shrugs

Obviouslu with the right machines you can do a 2 in 1 movement...
ex

Nautilus pullver takes care of stretch and contraction

bent over DB rows can work stretch and contracttion also if when starting the movement the hand face each other then wheen you row you bring it out wide so your palm face behind you...

I beleive in POF from ironman magazine and feel it works all angles and not many sets are needed...

any comment?

You are correct, many of these exercises work the same muscle group, but you can add a different twist. I usually pick 3 different movements per muscle group and attack the area with heavy weight.
