does having sex before gym influence my work out progress?

I like to have sex in the morning better than any other time of the day, and I'm back to lifting after months, I usually work out from 9am to 11 am. I was wondering if it'll decrease my energy or affect my strentgh to work out. Could the sex be zapping my testosterone levels before my workouts and nullifying some of the benefits?
 
Sex/ejaculation has no effect on testosterone levels or muscle gains. The only negative having sex before your workout might cause is it might make you slightly tired during your workout because you are basically performing a cardio session right before your workout.

The sex itself won't effect muscle gains in any way however.
 
Not only that, but also after sex the body increases prolactin levels and other hormones that make you feel sleepy & sluggish. Depends on the person, but I try to avoid doing it before workouts
 
I would not worry about it. The minute you are not having sex because you are worried about gains is the minute you are too obsessed with the gym!
 
You would have to have a porn-star kind of sex for hours in order to see your muscle gains affected by it. Besides, ejaculation does not affect testosterone levels. Basically, it is like doing cardio, so obviously you will have less energy, but this can be dealt with by drinking some water, and perhaps having a good meal before going to train.
 
I'm gonna disagree with muskate above on that ejaculation does result in a transient reduction of testosterone levels (which probably matters about jack shit, of course)

I agree that the main negative is probably the "relaxed" feeling you get after ejaculation, which may affect workout performance.
